Work through this in order. Each step feeds the one after it, and at the end you will have printed a real bill.
1. Your shop details
Go to Settings. Add your shop name, phone, email and address, and upload a square logo. All of this prints on the receipt, so write the name exactly as you want guests to read it.
While you are there, drop your pin on the map. The map location is what your public shop page and online orders use to show guests where you are.
2. VAT
Still in Settings, choose No VAT or VAT registered. If you are registered, enter your PAN or VAT number and set the rate. There is a shortcut for the Nepal standard rate of 13 percent, and a worked example on a bill of Rs 1,000 so you can check the result before you save.
3. The receipt
Pick your paper width, 58 mm or 80 mm, and tick the lines you want printed. A live preview of a real sample bill sits beside the settings and updates as you change them. Use Test print before the first customer arrives, not during the first rush.
4. What you sell
Restaurants: build categories first, then dishes. See building your menu. Grocery and retail: add products, with barcodes if you scan. If you already keep a price list in Excel, do not retype it, import it.
5. Tables and rooms
If you serve at tables, lay out your floor plan now so orders can be attached to a table. If you rent rooms, add the rooms and their rates.
6. People
Create a POS login for the counter and staff accounts for anyone who needs their own access. The difference between the two is explained in staff accounts vs POS logins.
7. One real order
Ring up something cheap, take payment in cash, print the bill, and check the paper. Then look at your dashboard: the sale should already be there.
