Real customers pay in pieces. Four friends split dinner, a guest pays half on a wallet and half in cash, a regular pays something now and the rest next week. PasaPOS records all of that against one bill.
Taking a split payment
At checkout, enter the amount for the first method rather than the full total, then add another payment for the balance. Each payment is stored with its own method and amount, so your cash book shows exactly how much cash came in and how much arrived digitally.
The bill stays open until the payments cover the total. The remaining amount is on screen the whole time, so there is nothing to work out on paper.
Part payment and udharo
A bill that is only partly paid can be attached to a customer account. The paid part is banked, the rest shows as owing on that customer, and their outstanding balance updates automatically. See udharo.
In hotels
The guest folio is built the same way. A booking can collect a deposit at check-in, food charged to the room is added as it is ordered, and the folio always shows a single "to collect" figure. Payments taken at the table for food are counted too, so you never ask a guest twice for the same money.
Checking later
Open any order and the journey timeline lists every payment in order, with the method and the time. That is usually the fastest way to settle an argument about whether something was paid.
