This is the buying side of the shop: who you buy from, what you ordered, what arrived.
Suppliers
Add each supplier under Suppliers with a contact number. A phone number on the right screen saves the daily hunt through a phone for the vegetable man.
Raising a purchase order
Go to Purchase orders and create one against a supplier. Add the items and the quantities you are ordering. You now have a record of what was asked for, which is the only way to argue later about what was promised.
Receiving
When the delivery arrives, open the purchase order and receive it. Stock goes up by what you actually received, not by what you ordered, so a short delivery leaves an honest record instead of a quiet lie in your stock figures.
Check the goods against the order before you receive it, not after. This is the one minute in the whole process where a mistake is still free to fix.
Why bother
- Your stock numbers only stay true if deliveries go in through here.
- You learn what you really spend with each supplier over a month.
- Price creep becomes visible. A rupee a packet is invisible per delivery and obvious across a quarter.
Plan
Suppliers and purchase orders are part of full grocery management, which starts at the grocery Pro plan.
