For guest houses, lodges and small hotels, usually ones that also run a kitchen.
The board
The Rooms screen shows the state of every room for today, worked out from the bookings rather than from a status someone forgot to update: free, arriving, in house, or leaving today. This is the screen your front desk keeps open.
Reservations
The bookings register lists every stay from the recent past onward with the nights, the guest and the status. Filters cover who is in house, who arrives today and who has not paid.
Check-in
Checking a guest in opens a registration card: dates, guest name and contact, how many adults and children, any requests, and an ID document. You can upload the ID or capture it with a phone by scanning a QR code, which is easier than walking a passport to a scanner. An early arrival is flagged rather than blocked, and the key is only handed over once the details have actually saved.
The folio
Each booking is a folio: the room charge, food and drinks ordered to the room, any discount, VAT if you are registered, and what has been paid. One figure sits at the bottom, what is still to collect, and it accounts for food the guest already paid for at the table, so nobody is asked twice.
Food is ordered straight from the booking, so a guest can eat in the restaurant and have it land on the room bill.
Payments and checkout
Take a deposit at check-in or payment at any point, in full or in half, with the same tender buttons as the counter. Checkout warns you if money is still owed, and you can still take payment after a guest has left while a balance remains.
Online requests
Guests can request a room from your website. Those arrive as requests you review and confirm. See your shop website.
